Thank you for supporting Momentum Choir

Momentum Choir is unique for so many reasons; the first being that we are a professionally trained choir composed of people with developmental disabilities. As such, Momentum Choir has become an integral part of the communities we serve. Providing a much needed resource for social, artistic, and educational training, a welcoming environment for those with developmental disabilities and their families and support community. As well as a place to nurture a passion for the arts - to be able to express and show the talents these people have on an incredible platform.

Momentum Choir serves over 200 families in Southwestern Ontario, providing professional musical training to over 150 choir members, and performing at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre, Parliament Hill, Canada’s Got Talent, and more. We are more than a choir, we are a force of acceptance, resilience, love and friendship for those living with developmental disabilities. We are a registered not-for-profit charity, supporting people with developmental disabilities through artistic training and social integration. We offer many programs to enhance the livelihoods and well being of those living with DD through artistic musical expression.

Thank YOU!

You Make The Choir Possible

When you commit to a monthly donation of $10, $20, or $50 a month you ensure these amazing people have a weekly choir practice that unites them in community, support, friendship, and education.

Music stimulates both hemispheres of the brain allowing patients to have increased cognitive activity. Music allows autistic persons the ability to communicate non-verbally, show expression, and the gain confidence.

Keeping the Momentum

Pivoting our program to best suit the safety needs of our members. As you probably already know, Covid has changed almost everything in our daily lives, to how we interact to how we plan for daily living and learning. This change has significantly affected members of the developmental disability community. Our members have not been able to interact with one another in person, maintain social or educational structured learning practices, nor have they been able to participate in our programs. In response to this, Momentum Choir has developed a program to best suit the needs and keep our community safe. "Keeping the Momentum" is an innovative and engaging virtual program designed to maintain the Music Therapy program Momentum Choir is founded on. Thanks to a grant provided by the Emergency Community Support Fund through United Way Niagara, and funded in part by the Government of Canada, we have been able to develop this virtual choir practice program.

However, we are still in need of some financial support to make this program a success.
Every Dollar Counts! Please consider helping us in any way you can. www.momentumchoir.kindful.com
